Corpus Christi, Texas – South Texans should prepare for a stormy weekend as several weather disturbances move across the region, increasing the chance of rain and thunderstorms—especially by Saturday, when the risk climbs to 80%.

According to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi, isolated showers begin as early as Thursday afternoon with a 30% chance, climbing to 50% on Friday. Saturday is expected to bring widespread storms and slightly cooler temperatures, with highs dropping from near 100°F midweek to the low 80s by the weekend. Breezy southeast winds up to 30–35 mph will accompany the system.

The region will also contend with heat index values over 105°F midweek, particularly in Laredo, Freer, and Cotulla, where air temps may top 100°F. Along the coast, beachgoers should take extra caution as a moderate risk of rip currents remains in effect through Friday.

Residents in Victoria, Beeville, and Alice should anticipate rain delays and slick roads through Sunday. Make sure to secure outdoor items, avoid flooded roadways, and stay weather-aware.

Storm chances will linger into early next week, with a 30% chance of rain Monday. Additional alerts are possible if storm intensity increases.
