Nashville, TN – Residents in Middle Tennessee are enjoying mild weather on Monday, but changes are on the way as the week progresses. Rain is expected Tuesday night, with a chance of snow showers by the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, Monday’s high will reach 61 degrees with mostly sunny skies by the afternoon. However, conditions will shift as a weak cold front moves into the region. By Tuesday, rain chances will increase to 30%, particularly in the evening, with gusty winds up to 30 mph. Temperatures are expected to drop into the 30s overnight, making for a chilly start to New Year’s Day.

Wednesday, New Year’s Day, is forecast to be mostly sunny but significantly cooler, with highs near 45 degrees and lows dropping to 26 degrees. Drivers along I-65 and I-40 should prepare for breezy conditions that could impact travel.

The cold air will linger into Thursday, with highs only reaching 46 degrees and lows dipping to near-freezing. Looking ahead to Saturday, snow showers may make an appearance, with a 20% chance of precipitation and highs in the 40s.

Residents are encouraged to monitor local forecasts for updates, particularly as the possibility of snow develops later in the week. Drivers should also plan for changing road conditions during rain and possible snowfall.

Be sure to dress in layers for the fluctuating temperatures this week and prepare for colder conditions by midweek.
