Memphis, TN – Eastern Tennessee started the day with thick clouds, but brighter skies are on the horizon for the Mid-South. By Thursday afternoon, residents in Memphis and areas west of the Mississippi River will see sunny conditions. Temperatures will climb to a high of 49 degrees, offering a break from recent chilly weather.

According to the National Weather Service, low clouds have lingered across the region, particularly east of Memphis. However, improving visibility and sunshine will dominate by midday. Residents are advised to dress warmly, as the day will begin with lows near 39 degrees and a light northeast wind around five mph.

Looking ahead, sunny skies and cooler temperatures will prevail through the weekend. Friday will bring a high of 41 degrees, with north-northwest winds reaching 10 mph. Saturday continues the trend with highs around 42 and lows dipping to 28 overnight.

The weather will warm up slightly by Monday, reaching highs in the low 50s. Calm winds and clear skies will make this a pleasant stretch for outdoor activities or holiday travel. A slight chance of showers returns late Monday night, but precipitation is expected to remain minimal until Christmas.

Drivers should remain cautious during early-morning hours, as fog and residual dampness from prior rainfall may impact visibility on major roadways like Interstate 40 and Route 78.
