Nashville, Tennessee – Tennessee’s warm spring stretch could end with a bang Thursday as thunderstorms and gusty winds move into the Nashville area, with temperatures peaking near 90°F.

According to the National Weather Service, showers may begin as early as 4 a.m. Thursday, followed by isolated thunderstorms into Thursday night. Winds will increase from the south at 10–15 mph, with gusts up to 20 mph. While the chance of rain is 30% Thursday, storm intensity and coverage are expected to ramp up Friday, with a 50% chance of thunderstorms and a high of 88°F.

Cities across Middle Tennessee, including Brentwood, Murfreesboro, and Lebanon, could see pop-up storms impacting afternoon commutes and outdoor activities. Southbound drivers on I-65 and I-40 should stay alert for slick roads and sudden downpours, especially during evening hours.

By Friday night, another round of storms is likely, with an 80% chance of rain and possible thunder. Expect overnight lows near 70°F and gusty conditions.

The weekend brings some relief: Saturday’s high will dip to 83°F with a 30% chance of showers early, then clearing into Sunday. Monday and Tuesday stay warm with highs near 85–87°F and scattered storm chances both days.
