Nashville, Tennessee – Sunshine and warm air won’t last long Sunday as Nashville faces a round of thunderstorms set to develop by mid-afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service, Davidson County could see scattered showers after 3 p.m. Sunday, with the possibility of thunderstorms developing between 4 and 6 p.m. Highs will reach 86°F before clouds and rain move in. Drivers along I-40 and I-24 should prepare for slick pavement and brief visibility drops during heavier bursts of rain.
Localized rainfall totals may reach a quarter-inch, with higher amounts under stronger storms. Winds remain light out of the northwest Sunday, shifting south overnight. Sunday night will be mostly clear, offering a break from the storms as temperatures drop to 67°F.
On Monday, rain returns — with a 70% chance of showers and thunderstorms between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., possibly continuing through the evening. Monday night will be cloudy with scattered showers and a low of 64°F.
