Nashville, TN – Rain showers are set to impact Middle Tennessee on Thursday, bringing wet roads and hazardous driving conditions. Commuters on major routes like I-24 and I-40 should plan for delays during both the morning and evening rush hours.

According to the National Weather Service, rain chances will increase throughout Thursday, reaching 90% by the evening. Winds are expected to gust up to 20 mph, further complicating travel. Temperatures will peak near 59°F before dropping to an overnight low of 47°F. Rain will persist into Friday morning, potentially causing additional slick spots on local roadways.

Before the rain arrives, residents can enjoy a stretch of sunny and mild weather early in the week. Tuesday will see clear skies with a high near 55°F, and Wednesday will be mostly sunny with highs approaching 59°F. However, the dry spell will be short-lived as the rain system moves in.

Drivers are encouraged to allow extra travel time, reduce speeds on wet pavement, and check local forecasts for updates. Pedestrians should also exercise caution when walking near busy intersections as visibility may be reduced during heavy showers.
