Spokane, WA – Residents across eastern Washington are bracing for dense fog and worsening air quality as an Air Stagnation Advisory remains in effect until 4 p.m. Monday. The advisory impacts Spokane, the Idaho Panhandle, and nearby regions.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), poor ventilation conditions are trapping pollutants close to the ground, leading to reduced visibility and potential health risks. Drivers should exercise caution, particularly along I-90 and Highway 2, where fog is most persistent. Visibility is expected to improve slightly by Tuesday afternoon as winds increase, but patchy fog may linger overnight.

Temperatures will remain chilly, with highs near 34°F Monday and Tuesday, climbing to 40°F Thursday. A system moving in Friday could bring rain and snow, further impacting travel. Avoid burning wood outdoors and limit unnecessary driving to reduce pollutants.
