Memphis, Tennessee – Floodwaters continue rising along the Mississippi River, and more rain could worsen conditions across Memphis through midweek.
According to the National Weather Service in Memphis, a Flood Warning remains in effect until Saturday, April 26, with high water already impacting areas along the Mississippi River at Memphis and south of West Memphis. The fuel facility near the river gauge and local grain terminals remain flooded as river levels hold above 37 feet. Flood stage is 34 feet.
Starting Monday night, showers and thunderstorms are likely to return to the region. Rainfall could briefly intensify again on Wednesday, raising new concerns about low-lying roadways, including I-55 and U.S. Route 61, near flood-prone zones in southwest Tennessee and northwest Mississippi.
Public safety officials urge residents to avoid riverbanks and flooded backroads. Never drive through standing water. Southbound traffic near riverside facilities should consider alternate routes.

- Monday Night: Showers and storms likely, low 58°F.
- Tuesday: Slight chance of showers, high near 81°F.
