Halls, TN – A flood warning remains in effect for the South Fork of the Forked Deer River near Halls, with minor flooding expected to persist until early Sunday morning.
According to the National Weather Service in Memphis, the river was at 9.2 feet as of 9 a.m. Friday, exceeding its flood stage of 9.0 feet. The river is forecast to gradually recede, falling below flood stage by Saturday evening.
Flooding in the area has primarily affected farmland near the river. The NWS urges residents to avoid driving through flooded roads, as most flood-related fatalities occur in vehicles.
