The river is forecast to drop below flood stage by Thursday, April 24, but flooding will remain a threat into Friday. Residents are urged not to drive through flooded roads or around barricades. Walking near riverbanks is also discouraged due to potential erosion and instability.
Areas affected include Tiptonville, Caruthersville, Osceola, and Memphis, along with parts of Arkansas such as Helena and Tunica Mhoon Landing. Fuel terminals and low-lying infrastructure near the river remain vulnerable.
