Tulsa, OK – A wet spring weekend is ahead for much of northeastern Oklahoma, as rain and thunderstorms are expected to impact travel, outdoor events, and Easter Sunday plans across Tulsa and surrounding areas.

According to the National Weather Service, a 30% chance of showers will develop Friday afternoon, increasing to 80% Friday night into Saturday. Storms may bring gusty winds up to 20 mph, especially along major routes such as U.S. 75 and I-44. Drivers should plan for slick roads and reduced visibility. Delays are possible Friday night through late Sunday.

Saturday continues the trend with more widespread rainfall and possible thunderstorms. Showers are likely throughout the day, and Easter Sunday brings no relief, with another 80% chance of rain. Temperatures will remain seasonally warm, with highs in the mid-60s to upper 70s.

Prepare now by checking windshield wipers, securing outdoor decorations, and keeping updated via weather apps or NOAA radio. Outdoor Easter events should have a backup plan, especially for midday to evening.

By Monday, Tulsa sees relief with partly sunny skies and highs near 73°F. The region dries out ahead of another rain chance returning Tuesday.
