Nashville, TN – Flood warnings remain in effect across Tennessee as rising river levels prompt significant concerns. The National Weather Service issued warnings for two key rivers—the Cumberland River at Dover and the Red River at Port Royal—foreseeing moderate to major flooding.

The Cumberland River at Dover is currently forecasted to crest at 68.2 feet by Sunday afternoon, falling below flood stage on Tuesday afternoon. At this level, Stewart County roads and areas including Bellwood Landing Rd and River Rd will remain inundated, with ferry operations potentially suspended.

Meanwhile, major flooding is forecast for the Red River at Port Royal, with the river expected to peak at 44 feet on Sunday evening before dropping below flood stage early Tuesday morning. Several areas along the river, including Port Royal, are experiencing significant flooding, with roads submerged and access impeded.

Residents in these flood-prone areas are urged to take precautions. The National Weather Service continues to advise against driving through flooded roads, urging motorists to turn around and find alternate routes. Additional updates are expected Saturday afternoon.
