Memphis, TN – A flood advisory remains in effect for the Mississippi River at Memphis through Sunday evening, as excessive rainfall continues to impact water levels in the region. Residents in low-lying areas are urged to stay cautious, especially near riverbanks and flood-prone roadways.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Memphis, river levels are expected to remain elevated, affecting parts of Tennessee, Arkansas, and Missouri. Areas along the Lower Mississippi River, including Tiptonville, Osceola, and Tunica Mhoon Landing, are also experiencing high water levels. At 29 feet, the evacuation route from camps south of Hopefield, Arkansas, is cut off, and water is beginning to lap at levees.
