Tampa, FL – An area of disturbed weather over the central tropical Atlantic has a 40% chance of developing into a tropical depression over the next seven days, potentially impacting the northern Leeward Islands, Greater Antilles, or southwestern Atlantic Ocean by midweek. The National Weather Service in Tampa Bay provided this update Sunday, advising residents to stay alert.

According to the National Hurricane Center, the system may form as it moves closer to the aforementioned regions. This development coincides with Tampa’s rainy and cloudy forecast for the week, which predicts scattered thunderstorms and showers.

Today’s forecast indicates a 60% chance of rain with temperatures reaching a high of 91°F. The rain continues into Monday with a 55% chance and a high of 89°F. By Tuesday, the chance of rain decreases to 40%, with temperatures expected to hit 92°F.

Midweek, on Wednesday, the chance of rain is 35%, accompanied by temperatures around 91°F. The trend persists into Thursday and Friday, with a 35% chance of rain each day and highs of 93°F. The weekend sees a slight reprieve with Saturday mostly sunny and temperatures around 92°F.
