Tallahassee, Florida – North Florida bakes under widespread 90s today, but relief is on the way with cooler 80s and scattered storms pushing in through midweek. Drivers in Cross City and Perry could face slick conditions through Tuesday as higher rain chances target the central and eastern Big Bend.

According to the National Weather Service in Tallahassee, rain probabilities climb as high as 75% today in Cross City, with Apalachicola and Perry also seeing increased storm activity into Monday and Tuesday. These areas are at the center of a fading stationary boundary expected to drift southward, gradually reducing rain chances after Wednesday.

Highs across Albany, Valdosta, and Dothan will ease into the upper 80s by Tuesday, but humidity will remain stubborn. In cities like Panama City and DeFuniak Springs, drier conditions arrive sooner, with rainfall tapering off by midweek.

Travelers should be alert for sudden downpours, especially on rural roadways where visibility and traction can deteriorate quickly. Residents are advised to limit outdoor work during peak heat hours today and prepare for occasional lightning or gusty winds during passing storms.

Rain chances decrease significantly after Wednesday, but isolated showers remain possible across southern counties through the weekend.
