According to a release from Delaware State Police, the discovery was made around 6:30 p.m. on Monday, when Rehoboth Beach officers responded to reports of a foul odor coming from a grey Mazda CX-5 with Virginia plates on the 40 block of Olive Avenue. Upon checking the vehicle, officers found the body of a deceased man inside. The body was partially covered, making it difficult to detect from outside the car.
Due to the suspicious nature of the death, Rehoboth Beach Police turned the investigation over to the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit. The victim was transferred to the Division of Forensic Science for an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.
