Virginia – The weekend continues with chilly weather Saturday and increasing rain chances for Sunday evening across Northern Virginia. Residents along major corridors, including I-64 and I-95, should plan for potential disruptions as wet weather arrives. Temperatures Saturday remain cold, peaking near 40 degrees in Annandale under mostly sunny skies.

According to the National Weather Service, rain is expected to move into the region Sunday afternoon, with a high near 42 degrees. By Sunday night, precipitation will intensify, bringing a 90% chance of rain through the evening. Travelers should prepare for wet roadways and reduced visibility after 7 p.m. Winds will remain calm at 5 to 6 mph, but roads may become slick, especially on bridges and overpasses.

Looking ahead, Monday’s forecast calls for cloudy skies and a slight warm-up with highs reaching 52 degrees, but rain could linger into the morning. By Tuesday, temperatures will climb to 61 degrees with a chance of afternoon rain, making it the warmest day of the week. Cooler weather returns Wednesday, with highs in the low 50s and a likely chance of rain.

For outdoor activities, Saturday is your best bet, as dry conditions will hold through the day. Residents are advised to secure outdoor items ahead of Sunday’s rain and monitor forecasts for any changes in timing or intensity.
