
Sumter, SC – A young woman was killed and a juvenile was wounded early Tuesday morning after shots were fired into a home on Picardy Drive, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a 911 call around 5:36 a.m. Tuesday, November 11, reporting gunfire at a residence. When they arrived, they found 18-year-old Jaikailah Richardson dead inside the home.
A juvenile victim was also located and taken to Prisma Health Richland Hospital, where their condition was listed as stable Wednesday morning.
According to Sheriff Anthony Dennis, investigators believe the shooting was an isolated incident and that a person of interest has been identified.
