Gallatin, TN – Families in Sumner County can bring their kids out for a free morning of fun and safety education as the Gallatin Bike Rodeo rolls into town this Friday.

The event is scheduled for Friday, May 9, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Gallatin Civic Center parking lot, offering hands-on activities designed to help children learn essential bike safety skills.

According to the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office, which is co-hosting the event alongside the Sumner County Health Department, the rodeo will feature helmet fit checks, guided safety instruction, and an obstacle course where kids can test their riding abilities in a controlled environment.

Organizers say the event is focused on promoting safe biking habits ahead of the busy summer season, when more children are riding outdoors. In addition to the educational components, families will also have a chance to participate in a bicycle giveaway.

The event is free to attend, and participants are encouraged to bring their own bikes and helmets. Officials note that proper helmet use and bike handling skills can significantly reduce the risk of injuries.

Gallatin is located in Sumner County, northeast of Nashville, making the event accessible for families across the greater Middle Tennessee area.

Community events like this aim to combine safety awareness with interactive learning, giving children practical experience while keeping the atmosphere fun and engaging.
