Goodland, KS – A Cold Weather Advisory remains in effect for parts of Kansas, Colorado, and Nebraska from 11 p.m. Thursday to 8 a.m. Friday, with wind chills dropping as low as -16°F.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Goodland, affected areas include Colby, Goodland, McCook, and Burlington, CO. The extreme cold could lead to hypothermia and frostbite for those without proper protection.

Residents should dress in layers, bring pets indoors, and take precautions against frozen pipes. Officials also stress the importance of safely using space heaters to prevent fire hazards.

Although temperatures will gradually warm up Friday afternoon, another cold front could arrive early next week.
