Glasgow, MT – A storm system is set to bring showers into northeast Montana tonight, with the heaviest rain expected south of Montana Highway 200. Showers and scattered thunderstorms will continue into Monday and gradually taper off from west to east by Monday night.
According to the US National Weather Service in Glasgow, most of the rain will remain south of the Missouri River. Areas south of Highway 200, including Terry and Glendive, could see the highest rainfall, with probabilities reaching up to 70% for 0.5 inches of rain. Meanwhile, locations like Jordan and Circle face a 60-70% chance of receiving similar amounts.
The weather service warns that gravel roads may turn muddy, creating hazardous travel conditions. Drivers should exercise caution, especially in areas south of the Missouri River where the storm’s impact will be most significant.
As the system moves in, residents are advised to monitor local weather updates and be prepared for possible thunderstorms through Monday night.
