Authorities say the incident occurred around 11:25 p.m. Friday, January 9, on the 22000 block of Davis Drive in Sterling. Deputies responded to a report of a hit-and-run and found that the driver of the striking vehicle was allegedly intoxicated.
According to LCSO, Juan Vincente Benavides, 50, of Sterling, was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated and Drinking While Operating a Motor Vehicle. He was transported to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center and later released on his own recognizance.
In a separate case, deputies also responded to a vehicle tampering report on Muirfield Circle in Sterling the following afternoon. The complainant reported that the cover of his vehicle’s door handle had been broken, panels under the steering wheel were removed, and the glovebox was left open. No items were reported stolen.
No significant incidents were reported across Ashburn, Dulles South, or Western Loudoun sectors, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
