St. Louis, MO – Bitterly cold temperatures will persist across Missouri through Tuesday, with lows in the teens and wind chills near zero. Despite clear skies and sunshine, residents should prepare for freezing conditions and take precautions against frostbite and hypothermia.
According to the National Weather Service, highs on Tuesday will reach only 27°F, with wind gusts up to 10 mph in the morning, creating a significant chill. Overnight lows will drop to 7°F, with light winds offering little reprieve. If traveling, bundle up and ensure vehicles are equipped for winter conditions.
The arctic blast is expected to moderate later in the week. By Wednesday, temperatures will climb slightly, with highs near 28°F under sunny skies. Warmer weather arrives Thursday, as highs reach 41°F. Friday will see highs near 47°F, with a chance of rain by the afternoon.
Drivers are urged to exercise caution, especially Tuesday morning when icy patches may linger on less-traveled roads. Ensure pipes are insulated, and avoid prolonged outdoor exposure during the coldest hours.
The extended forecast brings relief as the cold eases. Saturday will be mostly cloudy with a high of 38°F, while Sunday sees a return to partly sunny skies and a high near 42°F.
