St. Louis, MO – Multiple tornadoes struck the St. Louis metro area and surrounding regions, with damage surveys confirming EF-2 and EF-3 twisters across Missouri and Illinois.
According to the National Weather Service in St. Louis, a long-track EF-2 tornado traveled nearly 31 miles from Clarkson Valley, Missouri, to Alton, Illinois, reaching a maximum width of 1,320 yards. The storm caused widespread damage to homes, trees, and power lines but resulted in no fatalities or injuries.
Additional tornadoes were confirmed across St. Clair, Clinton, Madison, and Jefferson counties, including another EF-2 tornado in south St. Louis County. An EF-3 tornado was also identified across Carter and Reynolds counties in Missouri. Damage surveys are ongoing in Madison, Randolph, and Perry counties.
Officials urge residents to remain cautious as cleanup efforts begin. Power outages and debris may impact travel in affected areas. More severe weather is possible later this week, and residents should stay updated on forecasts.
