Forrest City, AR – A Forrest City doctor has been sentenced to prison after being found guilty of sexually assaulting multiple female patients during medical visits.

According to the Arkansas State Police, Dr. Sudesh Banaji, 61, was convicted on Monday, September 29, 2025, in St. Francis County Circuit Court on six counts of Second-Degree Sexual Assault.

Banaji was sentenced to six years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections and ordered to pay $90,000 in fines.

The investigation began in August 2023 when the First Judicial District Prosecutor’s Office requested the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division (CID) to investigate reports of inappropriate sexual contact with patients at Banaji’s Forrest City clinic.

After more than a year of investigation, Arkansas State Police CID Special Agents arrested Banaji on August 26, 2024.
