Kimball Township, MI – A Kimball Township man is now facing an open murder charge after a victim injured in an October stabbing died weeks later, according to the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office.

According to authorities, the incident occurred on the evening of October 12, 2025, along the Wadhams to Avoca bike path between two males. During the altercation, one man was stabbed. The victim reportedly made his own way to the hospital, while the suspect allegedly returned home and later contacted law enforcement to report the incident.

The victim, identified as Alvis Miranda, 68, of Port Huron, later succumbed to his injuries. Officials said Miranda passed away on October 28, 2025, at Henry Ford Main Hospital in Detroit.

Following the victim’s death, the case was reviewed by investigators and prosecutors. On December 16, 2025, Robert Barr, 60, of Kimball Township, was arrested and formally charged with open murder, according to the sheriff’s office.
