Springfield, MO – A gray and slightly cooler day is on tap across southern Missouri and the Ozarks this Tuesday as light sprinkles and fog start the morning. According to the National Weather Service in Springfield, there is a 15–30% chance of light rain or sprinkles through the day under mostly cloudy skies.

High temperatures will vary sharply across the region — near 70°F north of I-44 and close to 80°F along the southern Missouri border. The cooler air follows a passing cold front that is expected to settle temperatures to around seasonal averages through midweek.

By tonight, forecasters say skies will begin to clear from north to south, with overnight lows dipping into the lower to middle 50s. The NWS notes that the rest of the week looks mostly dry, with sunny conditions and a gradual warming trend returning after Thursday.

Weekend highs could climb back into the lower 80s, marking a brief return to above-average temperatures before another potential front early next week.

Residents are encouraged to keep an eye on updated forecasts, especially for any localized fog early Wednesday morning that could impact commuters.
