Greenville, SC – Daylight Saving Time (DST) starts Sunday, March 9, 2025, at 2:00 a.m. Clocks will move forward by one hour, marking the start of longer daylight hours.

According to the National Weather Service, this change means sunrise and sunset times will shift, with the sun setting later in the evening. The new sunset time will be 7:31 p.m., providing more daylight in the evening hours.

Experts recommend adjusting your sleep schedule a few days before the change to help your body adapt. The time change also serves as a reminder to check and replace the batteries in smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, and NOAA weather radios.

Many states have debated making DST permanent, but for now, the biannual time change remains. Most digital devices update automatically, but manually adjust wall clocks, microwaves, and car clocks.

Be sure to plan accordingly, as the shift can affect travel schedules, work routines, and sleep patterns.
