Washington – Low clouds and damp pavement are setting the tone across Spokane this morning, and light rain chances are already beginning to develop, with steadier showers expected to build by Friday afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in Spokane, a 20% chance of rain continues through today and into Thursday, with highs reaching the low to mid-60s. By Friday, rain chances increase to around 40%, with scattered showers becoming more consistent through the afternoon and evening hours.

Across eastern Washington, including Spokane Valley, Airway Heights, and Cheney, breezy southwest winds could gust up to 20–23 mph, adding a chill despite mild temperatures. Roads may turn slick at times, especially during bursts of light rain and during the evening commute Friday.

Drivers along I-90 and U.S. 2 should plan for reduced visibility and wet pavement by late Friday. Keep headlights on and allow extra braking distance. Conditions may change quickly when showers move through.

Looking ahead, a break arrives by Saturday with mostly sunny skies and highs near 55°F. However, colder air settles in Saturday night, dropping temperatures near freezing. That raises a potential for patchy slick spots early Sunday, especially on bridges and overpasses.

Five Day Outlook for Spokane, Washington:
Thursday: Slight chance of rain, high near 64°F.
Friday: Chance of rain, high near 63°F.
Saturday: Mostly sunny, high near 55°F.
Sunday: Sunny, high near 53°F.
Monday: Mostly cloudy, high near 55°F.
