Spokane, WA — A fatal collision involving a motorcycle and a semi-truck occurred just before 2:30 p.m. on August 29, 2024, at the intersection of Sprague and Freya. The Spokane Police Department (SPD) received a 911 call alerting them to the accident, and officers quickly responded to the scene, closing down the intersection to secure the area.
Emergency medical personnel treated the motorcyclist at the scene, but despite their efforts, the rider succumbed to his injuries. The other driver involved in the accident, the operator of the semi-truck, was contacted by law enforcement and is cooperating with the investigation.
Investigators from SPD’s Major Crimes Unit (MCU) arrived to process the scene. They will continue their work, and the intersection will remain temporarily closed. Authorities have not yet released the name of the deceased, pending notification of next of kin. The Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office will provide further information on the victim’s identity at a later time.
