El Paso, TX – A warming trend is expected to bring summer-like temperatures to the El Paso area this week. Lowland highs will rise into the low to mid-90s by Thursday and remain elevated through the weekend.
According to the US National Weather Service El Paso, highs in the region will range from 90 to 96 degrees later this week. Monday and Tuesday will see milder conditions, with temperatures in the 80s, but the heat will intensify starting Wednesday. On Thursday, El Paso is forecasted to reach a high of 96 degrees, while other areas like Las Cruces and Alamogordo will also experience mid-90s.
The weather service advises residents to take precautions as the heat wave settles in. Hydration and limiting time outdoors are crucial, especially for vulnerable groups. Temperatures 3-6 degrees above normal could increase heat-related risks. This unseasonable heat is expected to persist through Sunday, with little relief at night.
