Pittsburgh, PA – Rumbles of thunder are possible this evening in southwestern Pennsylvania, particularly south of I-70, according to the National Weather Service. The area, including parts of Pittsburgh and surrounding regions, could see additional showers develop after 6 p.m. tonight, with a chance for lightning if conditions align.

The latest weather models suggest limited atmospheric instability in the region, creating a window for isolated thunderstorms. However, confidence remains low that significant showers will redevelop after the main batch moves out. Despite this, areas south of I-70 hold the highest probability for lightning if storms do form.

The risk of thunderstorms stretches into cities like Wheeling, West Virginia, and parts of Ohio, with a 60% chance of lightning in some areas. As rain showers could occur sporadically, travelers and residents are urged to stay informed about weather updates.

The National Weather Service has advised staying cautious of possible lightning and brief rainfall, especially if traveling this evening.
