Milwaukee, WI – A strong cold front will sweep across southern Wisconsin late Wednesday, raising the threat of severe thunderstorms, damaging winds, and possible tornadoes. The National Weather Service (NWS) warns residents to prepare for hazardous weather conditions, including small hail and isolated tornadoes.
According to NWS Milwaukee/Sullivan, the storm will move west to east, bringing widespread rain and thunderstorms from Wednesday evening through Thursday morning. Heavy rain could total between 0.5 to 1.75 inches, creating potential flash flooding concerns.
Winds are expected to reach damaging levels, with gusts strong enough to cause localized power outages and property damage. NWS advises that some storms could intensify into severe systems, capable of producing small hail and isolated tornadoes.
