Los Angeles, CA – An air quality alert is in effect across Southern California today, with harmful levels of dust and ash in the air. Residents in affected areas, including Los Angeles, Pasadena, and Inglewood, are encouraged to limit outdoor activities, especially those with respiratory conditions.

According to the South Coast AQMD, the alert remains active until 7 p.m. Wednesday, with pollutants linked to recent wildfires posing health risks. Sensitive groups, such as older adults and children, may experience severe symptoms, including asthma attacks and respiratory irritation. Everyone should consider wearing masks outdoors or staying indoors with windows closed.

The forecast calls for sunny skies with highs reaching 72°F today, and tonight’s low dipping to 43°F. While Thursday brings similar conditions with highs near 68°F, cooler weather and patchy fog are expected to develop Friday night into Saturday morning. Drivers should exercise caution on freeways such as I-10 and I-405, where reduced visibility may affect travel.

This weekend, sunny skies return with temperatures near 60°F during the day and lows around 43°F at night. However, residents should remain alert to changing air quality conditions and follow health guidelines for ash cleanup.
