Houston, TX – A significant cold front is moving through Southeast Texas today, bringing thunderstorms and cooler temperatures to the region, especially along major roadways like I-45 and I-10. Residents in Houston, Galveston, and surrounding areas should prepare for heavy rains starting this afternoon and continuing into the evening. Expect cooler, less humid conditions by Thursday morning.

According to the National Weather Service, the storm system will bring temperatures down from highs of 94°F today to mid-80s by Thursday. Thunderstorms, especially along coastal regions, could disrupt travel and cause flash flooding. Commuters should exercise caution on major highways, particularly I-45, I-10, and I-69.

Thursday’s high is forecasted at 88°F with breezy conditions, making it a marked change from the hot and humid weather earlier this week. Looking ahead, temperatures will remain mild through the weekend, with highs around 85°F and nighttime lows dipping into the 60s. Residents are urged to stay updated with local weather alerts and avoid traveling during the heaviest storms.
