Detroit, MI – A mix of rain and snow is expected to impact southeast Michigan today, bringing the potential for slushy road conditions north of the I-94 corridor. Areas along the M-59 and I-69 corridors could see up to an inch of slushy accumulation by tonight.

According to the National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac, the precipitation will begin this afternoon and continue into the evening. While accumulation is expected to remain minimal, roads may become slick, especially during the evening commute.

Residents in affected areas, including Detroit, Ann Arbor, and Flint, should exercise caution when traveling and allow extra time for their evening commutes. Snowfall amounts are expected to be light, with less than an inch accumulating further north.

Looking ahead, no hazardous weather is anticipated for the rest of the week. The forecast from Thursday through Tuesday remains clear, with no significant precipitation expected.

Drivers should stay updated on road conditions and use caution, especially in areas where slushy buildup is likely. The National Weather Service advises checking local weather reports for real-time updates throughout the day.

Spotter activation will not be needed for this event.
