Southeast Michigan – Showers are on the way for southeast Michigan tonight, bringing cooler, cloudy weather across Detroit, Pontiac, and surrounding areas through the end of the week. Motorists should be prepared for potentially slick roads on Thursday morning, especially on major routes like I-75 and I-94, as rain persists into the early hours.

According to the U.S. National Weather Service Detroit/Pontiac, skies will remain partly cloudy through today, with temperatures hovering in the low 50s across the metro area. Overnight, increasing cloud cover will give way to rain showers, expected to begin after midnight and continue into Thursday. Temperatures will stay mild, with Thursday’s high around 50°F and lows dipping to about 45°F.

Thursday’s rain is forecast to taper off by the evening, but overcast skies will linger, keeping conditions relatively cool and damp. By Friday, the region should see temperatures in the low to mid-50s, with mostly cloudy skies throughout the day.

Looking ahead to the weekend, southeast Michigan residents can anticipate slightly warmer weather. Saturday and Sunday are expected to be mostly sunny, with high temperatures climbing to 54°F on Saturday and 56°F on Sunday. Despite the mild temperatures, clouds will return by Sunday night, potentially leading to more showers at the start of next week.
