Detroit, MI – Southeast Michigan is under a winter weather advisory with snowfall continuing through noon Sunday, bringing slippery road conditions and travel delays.
According to the National Weather Service in Detroit, the advisory covers Monroe, Wayne, Macomb, St. Clair, Sanilac, and Huron counties, where an additional 2 to 4 inches of snow is expected, particularly along the Thumb’s eastern shorelines.
Further inland, counties including Midland, Bay, Saginaw, Tuscola, Shiawassee, Genesee, Lapeer, Livingston, Oakland, Washtenaw, and Lenawee can expect 1 to 3 more inches of snow by midday.
Motorists are advised to reduce speeds and exercise caution on snow-covered roads. The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) provides real-time updates via its Michigan Drive Map for current road conditions.
This advisory replaces the previously issued winter storm warning and remains in effect until noon EST today. Snowfall is expected to taper off in the afternoon, but icy patches and reduced visibility may persist into the evening hours.
