Cities like Laredo, Cotulla, and Tilden could see temperatures reaching 99 to 98 degrees today and throughout the weekend. Coastal areas, including Corpus Christi and Port Lavaca, will experience slightly cooler but still hot conditions, with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s.
A moderate risk of rip currents is also in effect for area beaches, including those around Port Aransas, until at least Monday. Beachgoers should exercise caution and swim near lifeguards when possible. While chances for rain and storms remain moderate this weekend (40% Saturday, 35% Sunday), they are expected to be isolated, providing little relief from the intense heat. By early next week, rain chances will drop, and temperatures could climb even higher, reaching 90 to 101 degrees.
