Corpus Christi, Texas –Drivers across South Texas are waking up to thick fog Monday morning, creating hazardous conditions with visibility falling below a mile inland and around 2–3 miles near the coast. The most dangerous spots may see visibility drop below half a mile, especially before 9 a.m.

According to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi, the dense fog spans a wide swath of the region, affecting major roadways near Laredo, Alice, Beeville, and Victoria. Along the coast, areas from Corpus Christi to Brownsville remain under heightened advisory. Visibility may change quickly and worsen without warning.

Motorists are urged to slow down, allow extra distance between vehicles, and use low-beam headlights. Consider delaying travel if possible, especially on rural highways or poorly lit roads. The fog could lift after 9 a.m., but areas of patchy dense fog may linger longer in some spots.

This marks one of the most widespread fog events in recent weeks, and officials warn additional advisories could follow later in the week depending on overnight conditions. Stay tuned for updates from the NWS Corpus Christi.
