Miami, FL – A heat advisory is in effect for portions of South Florida today, with temperatures expected to reach dangerous levels. The advisory is in place from 10 AM to 7 PM, with heat indices predicted to soar between 105 and 110 degrees.

According to the US National Weather Service Miami, the affected areas include Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach. Residents are urged to take precautions to avoid heat-related illnesses. This extreme heat can cause heat exhaustion or heat stroke, especially among vulnerable populations such as the elderly and young children.

The weather forecast for Miami shows a high of 92 degrees today with mostly cloudy skies and a 35% chance of rain. The heat wave is expected to continue into the weekend, with temperatures remaining in the low 90s. Thursday and Friday will see highs of 92 and 91 degrees, respectively, with partly cloudy conditions. The weekend brings a slight respite, with highs of 89 on Saturday and 88 on Sunday, but with increased chances of rain at 55% and 60%.

Residents are advised to stay hydrated, avoid strenuous outdoor activities, and check on neighbors and family members who may be at risk. Cooling centers are open throughout the affected areas to provide relief. The heat advisory is expected to expire by early this evening, but the high temperatures will persist.
