South Florida residents are in for cooler temperatures starting tonight as a dry air mass pushes across the region. With lows dipping into the mid-40s near Lake Okeechobee and mid-50s along the east coast, locals should prepare for a chilly evening.

According to the National Weather Service Miami, today’s highs will reach the upper 70s to low 80s, but clear skies and northwest winds will lead to significant overnight cooling. A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect for Southwest Florida and the Lake Okeechobee region, with visibility reduced to a quarter-mile or less in some areas during the early morning hours.

For those heading outdoors, a Moderate Rip Current Risk remains in place along Palm Beaches, with heightened hazards expected to persist through the weekend due to a northeasterly swell. Caution is advised for beachgoers and boaters navigating Gulf and Atlantic waters.

The weekend will feature sunny days and progressively cooler nights. Saturday’s high near Miami is expected to peak around 70°F, with overnight lows near 56°F. By Sunday, temperatures will remain mild, with highs in the mid-70s and lows near 60°F.

Looking ahead, rain chances increase slightly on Monday and Tuesday, with a 20% chance of scattered showers each day. Winds will shift to the east, bringing slightly warmer conditions midweek, with highs climbing back to the mid-70s by Christmas.

Stay informed and plan outdoor activities accordingly. Ensure proper visibility precautions if traveling through areas of fog and remain cautious of rip current risks.
