Sioux Falls, SD – Daily hit-or-miss showers and thunderstorms are expected into the beginning of next week across South Dakota. Areas west of I-29 may experience isolated strong to severe thunderstorms this afternoon, with large hail and damaging winds being the primary risks.
According to the US National Weather Service in Sioux Falls, temperatures will be slightly below normal, with highs in the mid-70s and mid-80s into the beginning of next week. The overall risk for strong to severe thunderstorms this weekend remains low.
For today, expect scattered showers and storms with severe PM storms possible west of I-29. Highs will range from 79 to 86 degrees. On Saturday, scattered showers and storms continue with highs between 75 and 83 degrees. Sunday’s forecast includes more scattered showers and storms, with temperatures peaking between 75 and 81 degrees.
As we move into the new week, Monday and Tuesday will see PM scattered showers and storms, with highs from 77 to 85 degrees. The nights will be cooler, with lows dropping to the low 60s.
