San Antonio, TX – Scattered thunderstorms are set to bring rain and cooler temperatures to South-Central Texas heading into the weekend. Locals are urged to prepare for potential travel disruptions, particularly near the I-35 corridor.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Austin-San Antonio, showers will shift eastward today, leaving parts of the region drier by Thursday afternoon. However, isolated storms are expected Thursday night, with increasing chances of scattered rain and thunderstorms from Friday through Sunday.
Temperatures will dip to highs in the 50s on Friday and Saturday, accompanied by lows in the 40s. Sunday is expected to bring more rain with scattered storms across the area, posing risks for outdoor activities. Monday will offer a reprieve with clear skies and warmer conditions, as highs climb back into the upper 60s.
Drivers along I-35 and surrounding roadways should remain cautious, as wet conditions and isolated storms could impact visibility and traffic flow. Minimal flooding is anticipated, but those in low-lying areas are encouraged to monitor conditions closely.
For the rest of the week, pack an umbrella and layer up as the cooler temperatures settle in. Outdoor plans should be scheduled earlier in the day Thursday or postponed until Monday.
Stay informed about developing weather patterns by checking the NWS website and tuning into local alerts. This extended rain forecast provides an excellent opportunity for residents to ensure gutters and storm drains are cleared to prevent localized flooding.
