Phoenix, AZ – A blowing dust advisory has been issued for parts of south-central Arizona, including Pinal County, effective from 4 PM to 8 PM today. Residents are urged to exercise caution due to potential hazardous conditions.
According to the US National Weather Service in Phoenix, isolated showers and thunderstorms are expected to produce gusty outflow winds. These winds, ranging from 30 to 40 mph, could reduce visibility to under one mile and create dangerous driving conditions due to blowing debris.
Motorists are advised to pull aside and stay alive if they encounter dense blowing dust. The advisory warns that visibility can drop suddenly, making driving extremely hazardous.
Additionally, temperatures are forecasted to remain high. This morning, low temperatures ranged from the upper 70s in southeastern California to the upper 80s in south-central Arizona. Today’s highs are expected to soar between 105°F and 110°F. Phoenix is predicted to reach 106°F, with other areas like Casa Grande and Scottsdale experiencing similar heat.
Looking ahead, the 10-day forecast for Phoenix shows persistent high temperatures, with daily highs consistently above 105°F and peaking at 108°F by Wednesday. Mostly sunny skies will prevail, though scattered clouds may appear on Thursday.
