Spartanburg, SC – A cold front sweeping through South Carolina today will bring gusty winds, plunging temperatures, and the potential for isolated showers. Highs near 70 degrees this afternoon will give way to lows in the 30s tonight, making for a significant drop in temperatures.
According to the National Weather Service, wind gusts could reach up to 30 mph, particularly in the mountainous areas near I-85. Commuters should exercise caution on open stretches of roadway where crosswinds may create hazardous conditions. Isolated rain showers may occur this afternoon, but most areas will remain dry as skies clear overnight.
Thursday will bring sunshine but cooler conditions, with highs only reaching 55 degrees and breezy northwest winds. Overnight lows will dip to around 33 degrees, and frost could develop in some areas. Residents are advised to protect sensitive plants and outdoor belongings as temperatures continue to fall.
Looking ahead, Friday will remain sunny but chilly, with highs near 52 degrees and lows around 37. The warming trend will begin Saturday, with highs nearing 59 degrees, but temperatures will still fall into the mid-30s at night.
With colder nights and increased wind chills expected, residents are encouraged to bundle up and check local road conditions for possible wind-related hazards. Stay informed by monitoring weather updates and securing outdoor objects before winds pick up.
