Greenville, SC – Strong thunderstorms are expected to sweep across South Carolina on Saturday, with the greatest risk between 3 p.m. and 9 p.m. Several storms could become severe, bringing the possibility of damaging winds and large hail.

According to the National Weather Service, the central and northern regions of the state are at higher risk, with the threat of wind gusts over 60 mph and hail larger than ping pong balls. Areas in the yellow zone, which includes much of the Midlands, will see the highest likelihood of severe storms.

Travelers and outdoor enthusiasts are advised to keep an eye on weather alerts and take shelter if warnings are issued. High winds could cause hazardous driving conditions, especially on Interstate 85 and Highway 25.

Residents are urged to stay informed through local weather sources throughout the day. By evening, conditions should improve, but it’s critical to monitor storm activity, especially if planning to be outdoors.
