COLUMBUS, Ohio – Light to moderate rain has begun spreading across Ohio this Saturday morning, with the heaviest rainfall expected to affect areas southeast of the I-71 corridor. Though thunderstorm activity is expected to remain minimal, the potential for soaking rain (greater than 1 inch) is highest in these regions through the afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service, rainfall will persist throughout the day, with the best chances for significant accumulation near and southeast of the I-71 corridor. Showers are expected to linger into tonight and early Sunday, with conditions remaining wet across the state.

For central and southern Ohio, including Cincinnati and Dayton, the rain will be more consistent, but thunderstorms are not expected to pose a major threat. Travelers should be prepared for slick roads and reduced visibility, especially during heavier rain periods.

As the rain continues through the weekend, motorists are advised to exercise caution on highways like I-70 and I-75, which could experience delays. By Sunday morning, the rain will begin to taper off, but lingering showers may still cause disruptions for morning commuters.
