Columbia, SC – South Carolina residents can expect an unseasonably warm weekend, with temperatures reaching record highs and scattered showers in some areas. Columbia and Augusta could hit 81 degrees on Sunday, challenging previous records.
According to the National Weather Service, Friday will bring partly cloudy skies with highs near 77 degrees. A slight chance of showers is expected Friday evening, mainly after 11 p.m. Saturday will remain warm at 75 degrees, with a few morning showers possible before clearing in the afternoon.
Sunday is expected to be the hottest day, with highs reaching 81 degrees and mostly sunny skies. However, a backdoor cold front moving in Sunday night could bring increased cloud cover and a 40% chance of showers. By Monday, temperatures will drop to the mid-50s, with rain chances rising to 50%.
Looking ahead, Tuesday and Wednesday could see a more significant shift, with increased cloud cover and higher rain chances. Residents should stay updated on changing conditions and plan accordingly for the upcoming week.
