Columbia, SC – A Cold Weather Advisory remains in effect for central South Carolina and eastern Georgia from 10 p.m. Thursday to 10 a.m. Friday, with wind chills as low as 10°F.

The National Weather Service (NWS) in Columbia warns that cities such as Augusta, Sumter, and Aiken could experience dangerous cold conditions overnight.

Residents should dress in warm layers, bring pets inside, and ensure portable heaters are used safely. Officials also advise checking on elderly neighbors and those without adequate heating.

Temperatures are expected to rebound by Friday afternoon, but another cold front could bring similar conditions next week.
